AN UPDATE FROM THE AGM HELD ON Mon 25 March

In very a difficult year, with changing, post-pandemic and staff challenges, the Committee have produced a promising platform from which to build.

The year-on-year headlines make very good reading.

• Sales up 9%
• Gross Margin up 10% to 56%
• Membership up by 8%
• Costs – nicely contained at only 3% increase over 2023 (despite inflationary pressures not seen in decades)
• Trading Deficit HALVED to only (£32K)
• Reserves DOUBLED to £320k

This good platform can be used to carry the Club forward and to establish itself as a community facing facility, ran properly, for the benefits of its members and its customers, suppliers and the wider network involved, who will all benefit from a successful club.

The job is only just beginning though. The challenges are many and varied. We need a good cohesive team, with control, commercial acumen, and leadership with vision.

We need a focus on good business practice, to grow the facility, to provide for the wide range of services required and ideas, sown and harvested, from an ever-improving network.
